The decision to end the very successful run of the hit NBC comedy, 30 Rock, was made long before the show’s star, Alec Baldwin, was booted from a commercial flight for playing Words With Friends on his smart phone. In an interview months ago, Baldwin, who also is a producer of the show, said the comedy would end after its sixth season, when the casts’ contracts with NBC expire.
