Gordon Ramsay brings new meaning to the phrase, “Don’t let the bed bugs bite,” when he checks into Hotel Hell. Airing Monday, August 13 on FOX at 8:00 EST, it’s the start of a two-part series premiere that was originally scheduled for April 2012 but was pushed back due to Ramsay’s filming of two other FOX hit shows, Kitchen Nightmares and MasterChef. The unscripted reality show (Ramsay’s fourth series for the FOX network) is going to be similar to Kitchen Nightmares, where he brings struggling restaurants back from the brink of disaster by renovating, retraining and recreating the inside/outside décor; the owners, staff and management, and the menu. In Hotel Hell, Ramsay will check into hotels that are doing so badly they will be closing their doors soon if things don’t improve quickly.
Ramsay will endure hotels at their worst—filthy bedrooms and bathrooms, terrible food, incompetent staff and apathetic management. After uncovering all the problems in the hotel, Ramsay will begin his “makeover,” and if he can turn things around, the hotel may be able to stay in business. If the hotel owner and staff do not follow Ramsay’s direction, failure is inevitable.

The proof is in the pudding, so the saying goes, and Gordon Ramsay has proven to be America’s favorite chef as his laundry list of reality TV hits goes to show. If you’re a fan of Ramsay, you know that when he is screaming at budding chefs, calling them names and hurtling profanities in every direction, he means well. This is who he is, and America, obviously, cannot get enough of this gifted chef and entrepreneur whose next mission in life is to transform nasty, rodent-infested hotels into luxurious holiday getaways.
