In 2010, DISH became the first pay TV provider to introduce TV Everywhere™ technology, providing DISH customers the ability to watch all their live and recorded television shows on compatible smart phones, tablets and laptop computers. These features can be accessed when DISH subscribers download and use the DISH Remote Access app in conjunction with their broadband connected receiver and Sling® Adapter or with a Sling®-enabled Receiver.
The Sling Adapter is a small device that pairs with DISH’s ViP® 722 or ViP® 722k HD DVRs to provide TV Everywhere™ technology. Using the Sling Adapter, DISH customers can view both standard-definition and high-definition programming on their smart phones or other compatible devices. The Sling Adapter is powered and operated through a USB connection to the receiver and requires no additional wires or connectors.
