DISH Customer Service 24/7

There are so many reasons why DISH TV is a leader in satellite TV service; DISH customer service is one aspect  that subscribers (and prospective customers) value greatly. There is nothing more frustrating than having a question about your pay TV service and not being able to reach a customer service representative because your question arises before or after regular business hours. Regular business hours for DISH customer service are 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, and what’s even more exceptional about DISH customer support is that there are numerous ways to contact our customer service team.

DISH Customer Service Features

While some pay TV service providers offer the single option of calling for service questions or concerns, you can reach the DISH customer service team by phone (1-888-236-2202), by email, or by our easy to use live on-line chat feature, in which you can instant message a live DISH customer service team member and speak to him or her in real time. Unlike some businesses that have computer-generated programmed responses that really don’t address your specific question, with DISH TV online chat, you will engage in an actual conversation with a knowledgeable, friendly, professional customer service representative any time day or night—even on holidays.

The DISH TV website even has a “Click to Call” feature in which you enter your phone number and select when you’d like to receive a call from a DISH customer service representative, and “right now” is one of the choices. Whether you need to know how to program your remote or how to stream HBO® to your iPhone®, the DISH customer service team is just a click or phone call away!

If your question is not urgent, additional DISH TV customer service options include an online email form, troubleshooting guides, manuals and a DISH support page where questions are asked and answered in comment threads. You can search for a specific phrase or question and have your answer in seconds. DISH customer support is simply beyond compare, and isn’t that what good business is all about? Taking care of loyal (and new) customers and ensuring their experience is as pleasant and convenient as possible?

Some pay TV providers offer a “Frequently Asked Questions” page as their customer service provision or a toll-free number, but what happens when your question is not one that is frequently asked? What if you don’t have time to wait on hold for an available representative? If you can’t figure out how to record a program that is starting in five minutes, what good is a frequently asked questions page? DISH customer service provides instant service and answers to your questions, , so you can get back to enjoying all that DISH TV has to offer as soon as possible.

DISH Customer Service

DISH customer support is just one of the many reasons you should make the switch to DISH today.

Billy the Exterminator on A&E

If you like riveting reality TV, you are in for a real treat with Billy the Exterminator on A&E. Entomologist Billy Bretherton made his television debut on the Discovery Channel show Dirty Jobs with two pilot episodes in 2003 and as a series in 2005.  Billy now has his own show, and its fifth season premiered  February 11, 2012 on A&E (DISH channel 118).  Originally called The Exterminators, Billy the Exterminator follows the day-to-day operations of Bretherton’s pest control company, Vexcon. If the mere thought of snakes, rats and other creepy crawlies gives you the goose bumps, you may not fall in love with this show instantly, but considering the huge fan base of this reality hit, you have got to check it out to see what makes this show tick (pun intended).

Billy the Exterminator on A&E

Vexcon is not just a one-man operation.  Billy’s dad, “Big Bill,” and brother, Ricky, both help out in the office and in the field.  Billy’s mom, Donnie, is the dispatcher and rarely, if ever, leaves the comfortable, pest-free office environment.

Billy and the Vexcon team pride themselves on ridding the world of various pests in humane ways.  Operating in the swampy Louisiana environment, Billy deals with every type of insect, amphibian, reptile, and mammal you can think of—alligators, snakes, roaches, rats, opossum, and wasps just to name a few.  Whenever possible, Billy and his team will trap and relocate the animals, instead of killing them.  If relocation isn’t possible, they seek out other alternatives, such as rescue organizations or zoos.  In cases of bee or wasp infestation, when killing is really the only option, Vexcon uses non-chemical, all natural oils from different trees, plants and flowers in order to limit the insects’ suffering.

Billy is a certified entomologist, so you will learn a lot from him while watching this intriguing reality hit, as he is a true expert in the field of insects.  However, there is a caveat we alluded to earlier: this show is not for the faint of heart.  The humane nature of Vexcon’s approach to getting rid of unwanted critters means you won’t see any violent means of pest extermination, but when you see what lives in the swamps of Louisiana (and in many people’s homes) even the biggest animal lover can get the creeps.

If you’re interested in the type of reality TV that provides both entertainment and education, and you think your stomach can handle it, then this is the show for you.  Be sure to tune in every Saturday night at 10 p.m. EST to see Billy the Exterminator on A&E (DISH channel 118). If you can’t be home, then be sure to set your DISH DVR and watch at your convenience, or use the DISH Remote Access App and Sling® Adapter to enjoy DISH TV Everywhere.

84th annual academy awards

Brief History of the Academy Awards®

The Academy Awards’® first ceremony actually took place as a banquet at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel on May 16, 1929 with only 270 people in attendance. Tickets to the event cost $5.00, and the winners had been announced three months prior to the event! To make things more interesting the following year, the winners were kept secret until the ceremony, but a list of winners was given to newspapers for publication at 11:00 p.m. the night of the awards show. This continued on for 11 years, but in 1940, the Los Angeles Times published the winners in its evening edition before the winners were announced at the ceremony. This is what prompted the Academy to adopt the current “sealed envelope” system. Each year, the event has grown  in size, and since 2001, the Oscars have been held at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, CA.

The first Academy Awards® that aired to the public was in 1953, allowing millions of Americans and Canadians to watch the exciting award presentation, and in 1966 the show aired in color for the very first time. Since 1969, the show has been broadcast internationally and now reaches over 200 countries around the world. In 2011, 71.45 million people watched the Academy Awards®.

DISH vs. DIRECTV? You Decide

You will often hear people talk about DISH vs. DIRECTV, and when people are comparing the two, there really is one main factor that often helps  prospective customers make their final decision: value. People want the most for their money, and that’s why DISH has maintained its commitment to freeze everyday prices on English language packages until 2013. While DIRECTV has raised their rates by an average of 4.9%*, DISH prices on English language packages have remained the same. DIRECTV even raised the price of their DVR fee**.

DISH vs DIRECTV

DISH Blockbuster @Home (formerly Blockbuster Movie Pass), offered exclusively from DISH,  allows DISH customers to get over 100,000 movies, TV shows and games by mail and over 25,000 titles available for streaming on dishonline.com. DISH strives to make your television-viewing selection as vast as possible and convenient for when you can’t watch at home.

According to DIRECTV, it removed 16 channels and raised the price of Choice XTRA. Plus, DISH offers six packages with everyday prices under $60—DIRECTV only has one! DISH also offers the most HD channels nationwide—over 200! And, if necessary, you can get TV installed in up to six rooms free with DISH. With prices starting at just $19.99 a month, there’s no better value than DISH. Only DISH offers TV Everywhere technology, giving you the ability to watch live and recorded TV on any compatible mobile device while DIRECTV only offers live TV inside the home.

When contemplating DISH vs. DIRECTV, the clear choice is the one that saves you money and offers you more value—DISH TV.
